This delightful five-piece matryoshka set by Russian artist Belyakova depicts a series of warmly painted everyday characters — a woman in a pink folk dress carrying a generous basket of apples, a young person in a red jumper and dark trousers, a girl in a green dress and red scarf, and two smaller figures each with their own charming detail. Each doll is painted with the expressive, individual faces that characterise Belyakova's work.
A warm and characterful collector's piece with the unmistakable hand of a skilled artist throughout.
This matryoshka is a five nested set.
