Belyakova Family Nesting Dolls – 5 Nested Set
A beautifully detailed five-piece nesting doll set signed by artist Belyakova, each piece depicting a different member of a Russian family - from a traditional babushka in blue headscarf holding a young child, to a cheerful modern girl in a pink cap and striped top with a bagel, to a younger girl in folk dress holding a cup of tea, and two smaller children in traditional costume. A rare set that bridges old and new Russia in a single collection.
Each piece is individually and expressively painted with remarkable facial detail and character - very much the work of a named artist rather than a production piece.
Five nested pieces. Signed by the artist. Part of the Belyakova collection.
Handmade in Russia
